Taking responsibility for the mental reactions that are occurring in your mind is a vital part of maturing and regaining your power. Life is a continuous succession of ups and downs, it is therefore inevitable that there will be only good times or only difficult times. There is no way to design a life that is full of pleasant situations because so much of life is within our control.

The more deeply you are attached to pleasant moments, your response to unfortunate events will be more violent. It’s conceivable for events to be objectively awful, however you should still examine on your conduct to evaluate whether your responses are adding unnecessary pressure to the situation. The unconscious habit pattern is to take a difficult scenario and intensify what occured in your head, making a difficult situation into something much worse.

Everything changes when you realise that the hardest aspect of the task isn’t the problem itself; it’s how you respond to the problem that causes stress and struggle in your mind. You must first comprehend how your thoughts are affecting your own mind in order go liberate yourself.

Many people are unaware of how they became trapped in a reactive loop, always letting their perception of external events to govern how they feel, rather than completely realising that their true power comes from training their mind to observe. Spending more time observing rather than reacting allow you to observe how the absence of reaction also implies the absence of stress.
